A Transformational Model
Cedars-Sinai’s solidified their expansion into the Westside with the acquisition of the Marina Del Rey Hospital and adjacent Marina Tower Medical Office. They partnered with Abramson Architects modernize the entire 4th floor of the Medical Office Building to meet their current needs, but they also sought to explore schemes that allowed for the future expansion of other specialties not already included in their preliminary planning.
The look and feel of the concept for the 4th floor renovation includes elements inspired by the medical office’s direct view of the adjacent marina. Pops of color, wood paneled corridors, back painted glass, teak siding, brass details, and abundant day-lighting liven the space.
In keeping with Cedar-Sinai Health Center’s focus on “user-experience”, the design’s angled corridors minimize the corridor area and increase natural light to the inner staff circulation in order to create a more welcoming workplace for the care teams.
