A Hospitality Driven Medical Office
While relocating their practice, formerly known as the Schwartz Medical Offices, the owner’s recognized an opportunity to create a space reflective of the meticulous eye for detail and attention to artistry exhibited by Dr. Schwartz and his staff.
Tapping into AA’s experience with healthcare clients, hotels, retailers, and singlefamily residences, the design team instilled a measured balance of luxury to what could otherwise be a clinical space. The team collaborated with Dr. Schwartz and his staff in order to establish a “signature style”.
The efficient floor plan is brought to life by layers of luxurious elements including recessed art alcoves, brass gates, retail niches, soffit details and textured wall finishes. Architectural accent lighting is used throughout the center, including cove lighting which highlights the unexpected ceiling-applied wall covering. A series of smoked glass feature walls add an air of vintage refinement while fostering continuity between the distinct programs. This elegant, yet practical, solution helps to create the illusion of a more expansive space.
From a space planning perspective, the new center needed to house three distinctly different programs within a 10,000 sq ft medical office. The Surgical Suite is comprised of two fully functional Operating Rooms including Pre-Op and Recovery. The Medical Spa seamlessly blends the features of a traditional day spa with those expected at a fullservice medical clinic. The Medical Offices connect the surgical and spa spaces, creating an efficient layout for patients and reducing travel times for Dr. Schwartz and his staff.
One of the most impressive design features of the new Schwartz Aesthetic Institute are two custom fabricated chandeliers made of a hand-finished brass canopy and faceted crystals. These are the result of the collaborative relationship between the client, architects, lighting designer, and fabricator, requiring the interiors team to individually specify the placement for each of the varying size crystal baubles. From concept to construction, every aspect of the interior design was truly a team effort.
