Lofty Townhomes in the Marina
Located in the emerging Marina Arts District, R1 Living is a boutique collection of architecturally diverse town-homes each with inspiring views, rooftop patios, and private three-four car garages. Abramson Architects was invited to design the units that would flank the other two unit types and serve as a primary focus in the complex landscape. The design needed to mesh with the other contributing designs while standing out as a more valuable end unit.
The end cap units were designed to be iconic markers that showcased the bright and airy three-story living inside. They offer volumetric connection from one floor to another, which is clearly showcased from the exterior through walls of windows. The interiors are minimal and clean, providing a modern beach town aesthetic and every unit sits atop its own two-car garage.
