The Mercy Gilbert Medical Center (MGMC) is an award-winning, 206-bed medical facility that stands as a beacon of healing and pride for the Gilbert community. Inspired by the town’s historic train station, the design of the bed towers embraces a welcoming “open arms” concept, inviting patients and families through the public main entry.

As a full-service, not-for-profit hospital, MGMC offers a comprehensive range of services, including cardiovascular, emergency care, family birth center, gastroenterology, pediatric and adolescent care, sleep center, orthopedics, and diagnostic services. Inside, the two-story lobby rotunda serves as a focal point, celebrating the main entry while providing essential wayfinding for visitors. Connecting the main entry to public spaces, outpatient services, and the emergency department, the lobby spans the width of the building, creating a seamless flow.

To meet the urgent need for hospital beds in the area, MGMC was designed and built on a “fast-track” schedule, completing the entire process from design to licensing in just 30 months. Recognized as the Top Healing Hospital in the U.S. by Healing Trust Services, MGMC’s therapeutic healing environment enhances the experience of patients, families, and staff, providing comfort and care.

Embracing sustainability practices, MGMC was one of the first hospitals in the country to implement the Green Guidelines for Healthcare. The facility’s sustainable design earned recognition and the coveted Town Beautification award from the Town of Gilbert in 2006. Additionally, Soliant Health named MGMC one of the Top 20 Most Beautiful Hospitals in the U.S. in 2012.
