Where Adventure Begins
The built environment is a bit different for every Chalk Preschool adaptive reuse project we approach. Chalk’s methodology for expanding their service areas is to take over existing buildings that have been restaurants, boat houses, banks, and more.
Our process begins by understanding the individual culture of each location and their overall organizational vision which is to provide an environment where:
“Creativity abounds and Hands-on early childhood learning experiences incorporate Art, Laughter and Knowledge, in a safe and inspirational preschool setting.”
Working closely with Chalk, we analyzed each potential building including the parking and play areas to first verify if it would be possible to re-purpose and revitalize the space into a vibrant preschool. Once we completed the feasibility study, we started the process of converting these former commercial spaces into engaging communities for learning and exploration.
