Rooted in AARI’s user-oriented Psychology of Space research, Patterning V/I operates under the premise that pattern recognition has a positive impact on human brain function, and postulates that a building whose tectonics are rooted in pattern logics has a heightened potential to positively impact those who interact with it. Using the ubiquitous five-over-one apartment house as a laboratory, Patterning V/I examines the potentials of generative patterning, and seeks to develop prototypes and processes for pattern-oriented architectural design.
