Michael likes to begin each project without any preconceived notions of what will be developed, thus allowing the solution to be invented and nurtured in order to solve the unique and specific problems at hand. His strength lies in understanding both the constraints and opportunities of individual projects that are distinctive to the site and program. In the past, Michael worked as a custom fabricator, designing and fabricating high-end architectural objects and sculptures at several studios in Chicago. This experience gave him an intimate knowledge of detail and craftsmanship that he applies to every architectural project, big or small. His varied experiences in fine arts and fabrication have given Michael a unique perspective on problem solving in a very pragmatic and poetic way.
