Jonathan Alexander Martinez

Project Designer II
"Architecture is an art form, and I believe in pushing boundaries to create spaces that inspire and elevate the human experience."

Philosophy

Jonathan brings a unique blend of practical construction knowledge and artistic sensibility to his role as Project Designer. Originally from Burbank, California, Jonathan began his journey by pursuing engineering, a family trade, at the University of Arkansas, where he earned a scholarship. However, it was his passion for blending art with architecture that truly guided his career path.

During his time at the University of Arkansas, Jonathan worked at the University of Arkansas Community Design Center, an outreach program where he balanced teaching and hands-on urban design projects. He quickly progressed from technical assistant to project designer, gaining invaluable experience in designing functional, community-driven spaces.

Jonathan’s design philosophy centers on creating environments that foster connections—whether it’s a vibrant public space or a serene private residence. He emphasizes the importance of natural light, landscape integration, connection to nature and flexibility in residential design, often drawing inspiration from his Guatemalan heritage and its courtyard-style homes, which support multigenerational living.
